Hello my dear friends!

Yes, I'm still alive, and I'm sorry for always disappearing for months at a time... Well, that's not why I'm posting. I had this weird idea today that in June I would do a Merry Month of Postcards (and not, that's not an official title, that's me being creative XD).

The basic idea is easy:

1 - Get out your pens and write postcards! I mean the real, snail mail things, the ones you can touch and that travel all over the world to find their destination. It doesn't matter if you buy postcards or use those funny/strange/pointless advertising cards, if you print a photo or just use those really old cards you never quite managed to throw away. The point it so write one and send it.

2 - Send one postcard for every day of the month of June. The beauty of a postcard is that it's a non-committal piece of paper that's just a nice wee 'I was thinking of you'. Easy. Cheap (well, not if you live in Australia XD). A nice and unexpected surprise. Makes people smile. Maybe there's this old friend you lost contact with? Or your grandma? Your parents? Brothers and sisters? A colleague? Online friends you can send a hello from halfway across the world (yes, some of you know what I mean XD)? A person who did something nice for you, like a neighbour or the nice lady at the local deli? Surprise them with a postcard, send it or throw it in their inbox. It's almost no effort for you, but it might make somebody else's day. Or hey, you can send 30 postcards to the same person, you best friend or partner or whoever you think deserves it. That's up to you ^__^

3 - Enjoy the pleasure of writing real postcards and get aways from the internet for a moment. Because snail mail has its charm (it may take a while to see it - quite literally sometimes XD) and there's just something special about letting the words just flow out of your mind into your hand and through the pen on the paper. And let's be honest, getting postcards that have travelled thousands of kilometres is kind of cool.

So, does anybody want to join me in the quest? There's no pressure behind this, it's just a funny idea and my strange way to share my love for postcards (note here that it's me writing them, not getting them most of the time ^^). And hey, if you only send three postcards in June, it's not really a problem either, the only thing that matters is that you did it and made somebody smile. And who knows, you might just get a card back next time they're on holidays XD

Oh my gosh, I'm so fuming right now. I was just making use of the opportunity to have internet for an hour or two and checked the web for pictures of Rush from Stargate Universe, and guess what, one of those appearing on the google image search looked a lot like one of my manips, but altered. So I checked it out, and guess what, I found THREE of my manips on that person's page, all altered and my signature taken out! Oh, I've not had that in my entire time in fandom, but man, I'm ready to kill her.

But no, I'm a reasonable person, so I actually registered at that site, wrote a polite but very very clear message and asked her to take down my manips. Now I'll give her a few days to comply, and then I'll report her to the site AND I will make sure that all my fandoms, not only Stargate Universe, get warned about her. I'm reasonably sure that I'm not the only framed artist here. And since she provided her twitter, tumblr and facebook, I'm pretty sure I can raise hell if she doesn't take down my stolen and altered artwork.

Tell me, friends, am I overreacting here? I've been in the fandom world for over a decade and I never had that happen to me, but I'm so pissed right now... Please let me know if you think I'm overdoing it. I might not have a clear mind about this right now... I dare say I'm usually a nice person, but right now I feel very malicious...

Yay, I'm finally back in those parts of the country where there actually is internet. I was working for over three weeks in a village that was obviously remote enough not to have decent mobile phone service, and therefor no UMTS either - which meant close to no internet at all... Well, now that I'm off work for two weeks, I'm going to do something crazy - callajoy invited me to join her team in GISHWHES. It's an absolute first for me, and I know I'm going to do crazy shit... what the heck, I love crazy shit XD (I loved last years flying christmas tree that happened to fly towards Calgary airport and then the police was notified and tried to explain to the airport authorities that yes, there was really a christmas hanging on baloons flying into their airspace... XD). It's going to be soooo much fun! You just have to love Misha Collins for coming up with stuff like this!

Wow, can you believe it, my Leverage story Screwed was nominated in the category 'NC-17 Fic' in Fulcrum Awards Round Two - and that with the extremely rare (or rather non-existent) pairing of Shelley/Captain Patrick Bonanno! Heya my lovelies!

I returned from my trip around the world a few days ago (physically, at least, mentally I'm still somewhere else XD). I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine, no real catastrophes happened, I wasn't mugged, I didn't have to sleep on the streets because of overflowing hostels, I didn't catch any diseases and I didn't even lose anything (I'm surprised by that, I never considered myself a very organised person... O_o). I did get sea sick when I was on a 'swimming with the dolphins' tour, though, and puked three times over the side of the boat and twice when I was in the water (yeah, gross, I know, but in the hindsight it's also kind of funny XD). And I had some very strange roommates... That is only one of the funny/weird thing I've experienced, and I noted them all down in my travel journal - yep, a real, handwritten journal with lots of drawings from the places I've been to. I was a good girl and wrote every day, although I hate keeping journals. Now I was wondering if anybody is interested in having a look, then I'd upload it somewhere as a pdf once I scanned it. I don't expect anybody to actually read my horribly scribbly handwriting (heck, even I can't read it sometimes XD), but if you want to just leaf through and look at the drawing, you're more than welcome. Let me know if you're interested?





As some of you may have figured, internet access was rather rare and then usually quite expensive (tops was 5 $ for 10 minutes). On top of that I only had my wee BlackBerry (called 'Cougar' - because, well, there's a picture of Cougar from The Losers on its back XD) and he was a real bitch concerning internet (yes, I do see the irony of that, and I know I should probably have called him 'Jensen' XD). So even if there was free Wifi, didn't mean I could use it. I cursed Cougar so many times, you wouldn't believe it. But hey, at least he was working well enough so that I could write about 10.000 words (not all of that is posted yet) and this is basically a wee reminder that all my fic and manips are posted over at the manor_archives - and there's a lot new stuff right now. I just did an update that included everything from December onwards, so why don't you have a look, maybe something of interest is in all the new stuff ^^

I'm opening the manor_archives!!





After having finished my diploma, I finally had the time to work on a wee something that I had in mind for some time: The Nanuk Manor Archives, a community where I post my stuff, art and fic alike, and its purpose is to make it easier for you to follow any updates (compared to my personal Lj).

Futhermore, I intend - and have already started - to assemble in one place all fics that were written for my manips, or that inspired me to make a manip. Go and have a look at the Masterlist for Art and corresponding Fics to get an idea - or find a visual prompt, meaning that every piece of art is meant as a prompt, and you can take it and write however much you want and then post it at the Manor Archives to share the love and get comments! Go here for more information. I'll also have challenges hosted, like the currently running Fast and Furious Brian/Vince Summer Manipathon 2011.

I want to invite you to have a look at the manor_archives and I'm hoping you'd like to join, contribute or simply watch! Feel welcome, my friends!

If you want to, feel free to share the link to the comm with everybody you think might be interested - I'd love to spread the love for my many rare fandoms, maybe get some more fic for rare pairings and I certainly wouldn't mind get a few more followers XD
