Comment: Hey, I'm still alive! Sorry for disappearing like that (again... for the 1ooth time... XD). Well, I shouldn't be manipping, I should be studying for my exam on Friday, but this was just way more interesting. If you don't know the two parter 'The Sinking of the Laconia', then I can't recommend it enough. It's fantastic, and it'll capture you, that's for sure. WW II setting, so if you liked Band of Brothers, you'll like this one too ^^

And those two - Mortimer (British Merchant Navy) and Hartenstein (German submarine commander) - have some pretty awesome intense moments... (yes, I'm already working on a fic XD) Oh, and the voice of Ken Duken alone (the actor of Hartenstein) is worth watching the two parts XD

MEGAN! *cuddles to the ground* Oh man, I'm so sorry I never wrote back! I have you at the top of my to-do-list for ages now, and I never got down to it. Uni is quite literally killing me (oh my, work was relaxing compared to this!!), I've had to get up between 4.30 am and 5 am EVERY DAY since mid November (including Christmas and New Year!) because I just didn't get all the stuff done that we have to do. I'm still not through, I have anothet exam on Friday, but this one is kind of manageable. And then a looooong paper about Christchurch NZ... Well, I'll start with that after the exam. So I took a day off today and got busy manipping - and yes you really really should watch The Sinking of the Laconia, it's worth it. Even without the slash XD

So, most important thing now: THANK YOU SO MUCH for the beautiful Christmas card! I love it so much - it's smack in the middle of my postcard wall, and I see it every day. You were right, it was exactly my type of card. I love snowy Warsaw ^-^ And I'm very glad you like the wee package! *cuddles some more* How are you holding up? If you have to do as much as me, then let's just whine together ^___^

Now that I spent the entire day in fandom, I realised how much I missed it. I haven't read a fic since mid November! Not one! I haven't written, either, and haven't done anything but working. It's crap. I miss fandom! I miss making stuff and looking at other people's stuff and then exchanging comments! I know that this is just a quick break of working, but it feels really good. And I'm so happy we're talking, I miss that too! I want to return to 2010, when I was so active that I basically lived in fandom XD And it's really good to hear that you like the manip! I have more coming up and I'd love to drag you into the Laconia fandom. It's just two movies, so you can watch it in an evening and then get involved XD

I hope your exam went well! And that you'll have more time for fandom and manips after you finish the paper :) But I know how you feel, my break is finishing soon and I'll be back to writing essays, reading and everything else very soon XD
Until then I'll just keep reading fics, writing a little bit and playing Dragon Age games. And doing obligatory reading. I guess I could make some time to watch the films you recommended, too ;)
(And I'm so late with replying to everything lately, so sorry for that - besides fandom-y things rl keeps me quite busy as well).

Yeah, I saw that you got back to making manips - it's so great to see your new works! And they're gorgeous. Do you plan to write something when you have more time, or will you be focusing on manips for the new shiny fandom? :) Because after seeing those manips I think I could read some fics about those two, even if I don't know them yet.

Oooooh squeeeee!!!! Thank you so much! This is wonderful. Never did I dream that someone would create manips for this teensy tiny fandom. Other than one other person who dropped out ages ago I never thought anyone else would ever like it. Wow!!!

Love your Hartenstein/Mortimer manip! This is wonderful and I hope I can look forward to more. I'll reply to your comment on my fic later.

Î'm sooooo glad that you like it! We're a two-girl-fandom, after all, we must stick together and spread the love ^_^ And you should thank yourself: after all, without your post on rare_slash, I probably would never have come across the Laconia. Oh my, just imagine all the love and intensity and awesomeness I would have missed! That would have been a real pity!

Before watching the movies, I was - of course - already focussed on Hartenstein and Mortimer, but I have to say that their connection was really obvious and I loved the way they both seemed to know it was there. The actors were spectacular and the chemistry between them helped a lot, I think. Not to mention that I really like Ken Duken's voice. The teasing and the gentle amusement as well as the intensity he manages to convey. Nice - I think Mortimer liked it too XD

It actually feels wonderful to be back - I didn't notice how much I missed fandom-life until now that I got involved again. Uni was so awefully busy that I quite literally haven't set foot in anything fandom related (not even read a fic!) since mid November. That's bad. And it's so awesome to be creative again! And have nice people like you around! Gosh, I missed this...

And I'm very happy to hear that you like the new manip! More will come soon (yes, I should study, but hey, manipping is so much more fun.... XD). It's too good to stop now ^^ *cuddles back*
